MORENO VALLEY>> On April 24, the City of Moreno Valley installed three electric vehicle charging stations at the Calle San Juan De Los Lagos City Hall parking lot. The level two chargers can fully charge most electric vehicles in just four hours. The electric stations were accompanied with an 80% charging station, which is able to provide 80% charge to most electric vehicles in just thirty minutes. The installation of the charging stations was funded, in part, by grants from the South Coast Air Quality Management District, whose mission is to promote the installation of a fast-charging network throughout Southern California. The charging stations use mobile applications from two of the largest electric vehicle network providers in the country: Chargepoint and EVgo. Mobile applications provide users in the area and the state to connect with the drivers of other electronic vehicles. Payments for electric stations will be accepted at the charging stations, with a credit card or through a EVgo ChargePoint account. For more information about the newly installed electric charging stations, please contact Electric Utility Division manager, Jeannette Olko or Electric Utility Program Coordinator, Michael McLellan, at 951-413-3500.
