Little Free Library Pops Up at MVUSD District Office

Looking for a good book? Our district office is now home to a Little Free Library, a free exchange box for a variety of books.

The Little Free Library program provides a simple and no-cost way to enrich the community through literature. The idea is that anyone can take a book and return a book to the box. Friends of the Moreno Valley Library purchased the boxes and starter books and are placing the miniature libraries around the city.

The box at the district office was part of a collaboration between the Moreno Valley Senior Center and several MVUSD schools. Other libraries still to be placed around town display artwork by Vista Heights Middle School and Canyon Springs High School art students.

"Reading provides a foundation for all learning, I'm proud our district office was chosen as a location for one of Moreno Valley's first Little Libraries," said Board Clerk Susan Smith, "It is hugely positive anytime we can make literacy resources available to our community for free."

The library at the district office is in the upper parking lot near the Parent Center. More information on the nationwide program can be found at LittleFreeLibrary.org.
