Students Learn About Mental Health at the Superintendent Student LCAP/Strategic Plan Advisory Meeting

Student representatives from all comprehensive high schools and alternative school sites gathered with Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora and District directors to learn about the topics they were most interested in.

"At the last meeting, you asked for more information on mental health" said Dr. Kedziora. "When I shared this with our School Board Clerk Dr. Marsha Locke, she was very interested in meeting you and helping you understand more about that topic. Mental health is very important and we want you to have the tools and information necessary to ensure that you are okay and that you will be able to support others if you see they need help."

About once a month, the Student Advisory Council representatives will report on behalf of their student bodies and have important discussions with our District leaders regarding the curriculums, programs, policies, and more that affect our students' lives every day.

"Health and wellness is very important for all of us," said School Board Clerk Dr. Locke. "Mental health is no exception. I am glad these students are determined to break the stigma and were brave to ask questions to better understand this topic."
