On Saturday, Nov. 27, the 9th Annual original Rock-a-Billy Extravaganza was a tremendous success back at our Riverside Airport.
Two sponsors: Wyatt’s Body Shops, San Bernardino and Redlands and Quick Parts in San Bernardino stated the original Batmobile was parked in the kid’s zone. Eleven Bands played 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Back from TV days, we had a girl’s roller derby, car displays from Rock-a-Billy, ‘want-a-be’ classics to premium Impala, Lincoln and Cadillac car clubs.
There was even a Rolls Royce. You could ride in a monster fire truck, a helicopter or WWII era planes. You could also participate in a 1950s pompadour hair contest, or a pin-up beauty contest.
There were several best of show car awards, vendors from every area from food to souvenirs. Benefits of this show was for the City of Hope for breast cancer research.
