Earth Day was celebrated in a special way at TownGate Elementary.
Some of the kindergartners from Veronica Jones’ class and third-graders from Sally Kim’s class created a new garden.
With the help of Lowe’s, two 4’x4’ raised redwood garden boxes have been built. Students helped assemble the raised beds, and added the soil and planted seeds.
Now for the careful tending… snap peas, lima beans, strawberries, basil and lots of flowers will be coming up soon.
