Our always-creative art teachers have been using the Halloween season to interest their students in other cultures.
At Badger Springs Middle School, students learned about Mexican culture, history and art when they created their own calaveras, or depictions of human skulls, as part of their learning about El Dia de Los Muertos.
Art 1 students created their calaveras using construction paper and oil pastel, while Advanced Art students learned the block printing technique to create their calaveras. Their work is on display at the Vanguard Arts Gallery.
