He’s not going anywhere; Jeff Stovall will still be teaching PE, but the Canyon Springs teacher is retiring from his role as boys varsity basketball coach after 19 seasons. And what a remarkable record he leaves behind.
Fifteen of those 19 seasons featured CIF appearances, including a spot in the finals in 2003. Coach Stovall’s teams racked up a total of 309 wins and five League Championships. Twenty-one of his players went on to play college basketball at four-year universities; four of his players were first team All-State selections; seven were first team All-CIF selections; and four were ranked in the top 50 in the nation.
Before coming to CSHS, he coached at San Bernardino Valley College and San Bernardino High. Congratulations, Coach Jeff Stovall, on an outstanding coaching career.
