Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

Halloween season is creeping up on us, and that means ghosts and goblins of all ages will take to Moreno Valley neighborhoods, trick-or-treating and having a ghoulishly good time.

I’ve always loved how Moreno Valley comes alive as we celebrate the spooky season.

Our Carla J. Thornton Teen SPOT has already rung in the festivities with their Teen Fright Night on October 22, and our Dia de los Muertos event at our Civic Center Amphitheater this coming Friday promises to be a spirited good time. I can’t wait to celebrate with beautiful ofrendas, great food and art vendors, and amazing live entertainment.

Here are some Halloween tips to help your little ones have a safe evening:

Moreno Valley motorists, please make sure to drive a bit slower through Moreno Valley streets as children may be trick or treating. Take more time to see if anyone is in intersections, medians and curbs, and be sure to exit or enter your driveway extra carefully in case any children are close by.

If we follow these safety tips, everyone will have a Halloween to remember. Have fun!
