MORENO VALLEY >> The Fourth of July ended spectacularly with the Yearly Fireworks Show at Morrison Park. The Family Fun Fest, held earlier that day, created the perfect prelude for the Fireworks Extravaganza. Many families and residents came out to participate in the festivities. "Everything turned out beautifully," said Commissioner James C. Baker II, chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission for the City of Moreno Valley. "To add icing to the cake, we were able to capture some spectacular photos of the Liberty III Float's displays." The Float was parked on Dracaea Ave, next to the park. At first glance, it looks like the photos were taken at New York Harbor during a New Year's Day celebration. "This is not New York Harbor, but Moreno Valley, California, and we can look just as well," Baker said. For those who missed out on watching the parade of floats or want to relive the fun, the city will broadcast the parade on Channel 3 at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily; the parade broadcast is available on DVD for $2. There will be a special presentation upcoming for the ones that donated time and helped during the construction of Liberty III. The City of Moreno Valley hopes you all had a safe and sane Independence Day. For more information, please contact the Parks & Community Services Department at 951.413.3280. [END]
