For most students, winter break is a welcome vacation. But for some, it can mean no breakfast or lunch like they get at school. So La Jolla Elementary teacher Jessica Hernández decided to make 75 care packages for families in need to use over the break. She enlisted the help of her sister-in-law, Jennifer Grisham, and her husband, Kevin, who became interested over Thanksgiving when Jessica told them about how some children don’t always have enough to eat during school breaks.
