The Crimson Regiment Marching Band and Color Guard from Valley View High School brought home some hardware after a third place finish in Class 3A at a Western Bands Association (WBA) competition in Palm Desert. The competition was the first WBA competition for Valley View since 2004.
The band’s score was 64.25, which was about 12 points higher than other shows this season, noted director Loren Gamarra. He also says that the judges provided positive comments and had “very lovely” things to say about the performance. According to Gamarra, the WBA competitions are more challenging than others, but he was proud to successfully push the students to the next level.
