Battling an illness is tough enough, but being confined to a hospital over Christmas makes it that much tougher. For their community service project this semester, the National Honor Society at Canyon Springs made about 50 gift boxes for patients ages 3-17 and delivered them to Kaiser hospital in Moreno Valley. Items included toys for the younger ones and comfort presents like beanies, socks and hand-made blankets for older patients. But the best gift of all may have been the simple reassurance that they weren’t forgotten by their peers.
