Each year, more students are taking part in History Day competitions at the district level and, more Moreno Valley Unified School Distirct students are moving on to county and state levels. In 2014, one student finished second in the nation. Recently this year’s History Day winners were honored at Vista Heights Middle School before a full house of proud parents, teachers and principals. Just to give an idea of the high level of scholarship taking place, here’s the title of one of the award-winning entries from a middle-schooler: “Exploring Adversities of the Deranged: Dorothea Dix’s Exchange of Refuge for Self-Fulfillment.”
