At its September groundbreaking, MVUSD’s new Alternative Education campus, at the corner of Cactus and Indian, was still just an architect’s plan on an easel. Four months later, the new state-of-the-art facility, which will bring together Bayside Community Day School, Moreno Valley Community Learning Center, Moreno Valley Online Academy (MVOA) and the Graduation Opportunity (GO) program, is beginning to take shape. The new campus will have two new permanent buildings, and 37 portable classrooms and restroom buildings, totaling approximately 50,000+ square feet of building space. It also will include a library, computer lab, multipurpose room, food service room, counseling offices, other support offices and an administrative building. The multipurpose room, library, kitchen, workrooms, playing fields and hard courts will be shared by all programs. The new campus is designed with capacity for 500 students. Target date for completion is August 2015.
