MORENO VALLEY >> George Price, Moreno Valley Councilmember and longtime resident, has officially announced his intention to run for Mayor of Moreno Valley.
“I am proud to work, live and raise my family here in Moreno Valley," he said. "We enjoy a diverse community and have come to Moreno Valley primarily because this has long been a safe place to raise our families. However, I join thousands of concerned residents who have lost trust in their local government because of lack of transparency and loss of services. It’s important we ensure ethics and trust is reestablished in our city.”
Before being elected to City Council, George Price served as Parks Director for the city of Moreno Valley. Under his leadership, he helped establish one of the top ranked park system in all of Riverside County. Many youth baseball and softball organizations have turned to Moreno Valley to hold major tournaments, showcasing the importance of the city’s parks.
Price was also instrumental in putting together the Moreno Valley’s annual Independence Day celebration. Each year, thousands of local residents came together in a safe environment to celebrate with their families.
One of Price’s top issues will be restoring trust in local government and increasing public safety allowing families to feel safe in their community. Creating an environment where businesses can pay employees a livable wage is a must for Moreno Valley.
Price has been endorsed by Former Moreno Valley Mayors Judy Nieburger, Bill Batey, Richard Stewart, Frank West, Charles White, Patty Goodwin and Former Councilwoman Robin Hastings. He is also endorsed by Marion Ashley, County Supervisor that represents Moreno Valley.
The election for Mayor of Moreno Valley will be held in conjunction with the California Statewide General election on Nov. 8.
