The City of Moreno Valley is accepting applications for grant funds for programs which benefit low and moderate income residents or neighborhoods, eliminate blight, and address affordable housing and homelessness issues.

The City anticipates receiving approximately $2 million in Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, approximately $745,000 in HOME Investment Partnership funding, and approximately $175,000 in Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. These funds will be distributed to qualifying programs through an application process.

CDBG program funds must be used for projects benefiting low and moderate income residents or neighborhoods, to eliminate blight, or for community emergency needs. HOME program funds must be used to create, retain, or rehabilitate affordable housing. ESG program funds must be used to improve the quality of life for the homeless or those at risk of homelessness.

“These funds provide yet another tool to continue to improve the quality of life in our community,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez.

The City is accepting applications through January 31, 2019.

Government and certified non-profit agencies may apply for project or program funding which benefits low and moderate income individuals in Moreno Valley.
