Candidate Nomination Period Extended for Moreno Valley District 2

The nomination period for candidates seeking election for Moreno Valley's District 2 seat has been extended to Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The original deadline was Friday, Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m., however, because the incumbent for District 2 did not file to seek re-election, the California Election Code calls for an extension of the nomination filing period. Therefore, pursuant to the California Election Code §10225 any eligible person, other than the incumbent, shall have until 5:30 p.m. of the 83rd day prior to the Nov. 4 General Municipal Election to file Declaration of Candidacy for the elective office. Furthermore, pursuant to California Election Code § 13313, the Public Exam period for Candidate Statements will be held Aug. 14 - 23.
