As spring arrives in Moreno Valley, Mayor Ulises Cabrera is encouraging residents to embrace the season as an opportunity for a fresh start, while taking advantage of City resources designed to make spring cleaning easier, safer, and more convenient.
Throughout the season, the City of Moreno Valley offers residents several opportunities to properly dispose of items that do not belong in regular trash bins, including household hazardous waste, electronic waste, and sensitive documents for shredding. Proper disposal helps protect the environment, prevents harmful materials from entering landfills, and ensures items are handled responsibly.
The City’s next Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources main office, located at 14310 Frederick Street. This free event provides residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of hazardous materials that may be accumulating at home.
In addition, two Free Dump Days will be held this spring to assist residents with disposing of large, bulky items. The first will take place on Saturday, April 11, at the Badlands Landfill, located at 31125 Ironwood Avenue. The second is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, at the Waste Management Transfer Station.
Mayor Cabrera also highlighted the importance of community involvement. The City’s Community Day of Service, on April 25, at 8:00 a.m., will bring together residents, community groups, and City staff for a morning of hands-on cleanup and neighborhood improvement efforts, reinforcing community pride and connection.
Residents can also take advantage of free mulch available at the City Yard, providing an eco-friendly way to enhance landscaping while recycling organic materials back into the community.
