A recent hazardous materials (hazmat) response in Moreno Valley is serving as a reminder to residents about the dangers of mixing common household cleaning products. Emergency crews responded to a residence on Bay Avenue after multiple individuals experienced medical symptoms caused by chemical exposure. According to fire officials, the incident occurred when typical household cleaners were combined, creating toxic fumes that can lead to respiratory distress and eye irritation. Three residents were evaluated at the scene, and the situation was quickly contained by trained hazmat personnel. Authorities are urging residents to carefully read product labels and avoid mixing chemicals such as bleach and ammonia, which can create dangerous gases.   A local resident commented on social media, “A lot of people don’t realize how dangerous everyday cleaners can be.”
