Vita del Lago High School teacher wrote to his colleagues in remembrance of "Back to the Future" predictions.

For Vista del Lago High School teacher John Rose, Wednesday Oct. 21 was cause for pause, it being Oct. 21, 2015. That’s the far-off date in the unimaginable future to which Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) flew his DeLorean in the movie “Back to the Future Part II” in 1985. “I was 17 in 1985, a senior in high school, and failing my economics class!” he wrote his colleagues. “Could I have ever imagined that I would be teaching students on their own classroom computers, using CAD (computer-aided design) software… and then using a 3-D printer to print a plastic copy of what they designed themselves? Never! My entire class – the curriculum, the computers, the LCD projector, the CAD software and the 3-D printers, didn’t even exist in 1985! I hope all of you can reflect on where we are today 'in the future' and appreciate the technology tools we have at our disposal to help improve student achievement!” Good point, John. Now imagine what the next 30 years have in store for us!
