The City of Moreno Valley helps keep you cool during excessive heat warnings.

An excessive heat warning is being issued for much of Southern California beginning at 10 a.m. July 23 through Thursday night. Temperatures are predicted to reach up to 112 degrees in parts of Riverside County, prompting health officials to urge residents to take precautions against the extreme heat. Moreno Valley residents can take refuge from rising temperatures at cooling centers located at the Moreno Valley Public Library and the Moreno Valley Senior Center. Moreno Valley Public Library 25480 Alessandro Boulevard 951-413-3880 Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.   Moreno Valley Senior Center 25075 Fir Avenue 951-413-3430 Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are urged to take precautions against the extreme heat, including drinking plenty of water, limiting outdoor exercise, avoiding alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, and wearing light colored clothing that provides adequate air circulation. Check on family, neighbors, and friends who are elderly or otherwise more susceptible to the heat. Never leave infants, children, or pets in a parked car, even with the windows open.
