“It’s a privilege that they’ve earned,” said Rogers, who advises alongside Lydia Johansen. “We want them to know that we’re proud of them.”

Valley View High School took time recently to recognize 44 students maintaining rolling grade-point averages of at least 3.5 and induct them into the National Honor Society (NHS). “We want to acknowledge what these kids have accomplished,” explained NHS co-adviser Silvia Rogers. The event featured a special catered meal for the students, their parents and teachers. “It’s a privilege that they’ve earned,” said Rogers, who advises alongside Lydia Johansen. “We want them to know that we’re proud of them.”
