Dear District 5 Residents,
As your County Supervisor, I am thrilled to share some accomplishments highlighting our district's growth. We marked significant progress with the approval of a robust $8.6 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year, an increase of $1.1 billion from the previous year.
This increase enables us to effectively roll out our “Hire a Vet” and “Hire a Senior” initiatives, fostering employment within these groups and driving local economic growth. We are also launching the “District 5 Homeless to Work Program,” offering a second chance to those affected by homelessness.
In addition, I am excited to champion and announce the reopening of the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus, which closed in 2020 due to budget constraints. The allocation of $3.4 million is a clear indication of my commitment to animal welfare and community services.
Our budget also emphasizes community safety, allocating an additional $57 million to critical departments, including Sheriffs, Fire, the District Attorney, and Code Enforcement. This ensures safer, more secure neighborhoods where residents can live, work, and flourish.
We are excited about our strides forward and eagerly anticipate the future. I remain committed to serving you, and together, we will continue to enhance District 5's prosperity.
Best,
Yxstian Gutierrez
County Supervisor
