MORENO VALLEY>> While some students whiz through math problems, others may struggle. For those who have struggled with mathematics in school, they can attend the Moreno Valley Unified School District’s upcoming Math Festival on Saturday, March 11 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The school district’s 2nd annual Math Festival will be located at Vista del Lago High School, 15150 Lasselle St. This free event is open to the public of all ages.
“I’m one of those who had a hard time with math as a student,” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora. “It wasn’t until I began my career in education that I learned how fun math can be with the right instruction. It’s a beautiful and elegant language that everyone can experience.”
Kedziora said Moreno Valley Unified is working hard to improve students’ math achievement, especially at the middle-school level.
The MVUSD Math Festival will feature hands-on opportunities to apply math concepts to real-world situations, with guidance from enthusiastic math teachers.
