Mayor's Message: Help Food Pantries Help Others

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

On Saturday, July 25, the City of Moreno Valley partnered with Al Rahma Food Bank to host a free drive-thru food distribution event.  It’s the second such event we’ve hosted since the start of the pandemic and turnout was just as strong.  Together with City staff and other volunteers, City Council members and I gave out boxes of food to hundreds of families.  The need in our community remains great – fortunately, so does their neighbors’ generosity.

I urge those residents who want to help to contact one of the food pantries in town and see how you can contribute, whether with money, food or time.  We keep an up-to-date list of all Moreno Valley food pantries, along with much more food-resources information, on the City’s website at www.moval.org/food.

Now is the time for our community to reach out a supportive hand to make sure no one gets left behind.
