Mayor's Message: Spark of Love

By Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

With more Californians than usual out of work this holiday season, more children are likely to have to go without Christmas presents this year. Donations of toys, clothing, and other children’s items are already reportedly down from previous years. Here in Moreno Valley, we try to make it easy to help children experience a merry Christmas, and I encourage all who can to donate presents to the Spark of Love toy-drive campaign.

Spark of Love is a well-established partnership between ABC7 and Southern California fire departments, including Moreno Valley Fire Department (MVFD). Donations of new, unwrapped toys, books, sporting goods and other similar items can be dropped off at any MoVal Fire station. In order to get them all wrapped and delivered, donations must be made by Dec. 14.

Please consider making a donation today at one of these fire station locations. I understand that another toy is another expense, but the smile it will bring to a child’s face this holiday season is priceless.

Spark of Love Toy Donation Locations:

  • Station 2, 24935 Hemlock Ave.
  • Station 6, 22250 Eucalyptus Ave.
  • Station 48, 10511 Village Road
  • Station 58, 28040 Eucalyptus Ave.
  • Station 65, 15111 Indian St.
  • Station 91, 16110 Lasselle St.
  • Station 99, 13400 Morrison St.
