Mayor’s Weekly Message: Get Tested

By Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

While the focus of the pandemic response these days is understandably on vaccination, it’s important that Riverside County continue to have a robust coronavirus testing system, as well.

Currently, our county remains in the most restrictive Purple Tier, meaning the virus is still considered “widespread.”  Of course, we don’t want to rush and reopen sectors of the economy too early.  But we need to provide the state with an accurate ongoing picture of Riverside County’s rate of infection, as that is one of the most important pieces of data the state uses to determine whether we can safely move to the less-restrictive Red Tier and reopen more businesses with appropriate health precautions.

The City of Moreno Valley is hosting two free walk-up testing sites:  at the Conference & Recreation Center (CRC) at City Hall, and at Cottonwood Golf Center on Frederick St.  Participants must register online at www.Curative.com to get tested at the CRC, and at https://gettested.ruhealth.org/ to get tested at Cottonwood Golf Center.

If you’ve never been tested, or if it has been awhile since your last test, please make an appointment soon.  It will help slow the spread of the virus and speed up the pace of economic recovery.
