Dear Moreno Valley Residents,
In July, which is National Parks & Recreation Month, I told you about our City’s beautiful system of 32 parks. They include two skate parks, a golf course, a dog park, an equestrian center, four community centers and a senior center.
This week, the City Council and I broke ground on what will become our 33rd park, Santiago Park, next to March Middle School. The nearly four-acre park will feature a fitness apparatus that can accommodate 84 different exercises, the first of its kind in Southern California.
As Mayor, I’m so proud of our beautiful and well-maintained parks for both the opportunities they provide for residents to get out and enjoy themselves, and for what they say about our City and community. A City plans for and builds parks when there’s a community that wants them. And as residents, we only want parks when we know we’re going to be around to use them. The community demand for parks shows that Moreno Valley has become a wonderful place to grow up, raise a family and comfortably retire – a destination City all its own.
Moreno Valley’s safe, attractive and welcoming parks are located throughout the community. If you haven’t visited the one closest to you in a while, I invite you to do so. And after that, you still have 31 – and soon, 32 – more to experience!
