Mayor's Weekly Message Telephone Town Hall Meeting Recap

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

As your Mayor, I’m always looking for opportunities to meet with people to learn more about their city service priorities.  Last week, we used one of our best outreach tools, the Telephone Town Hall Meeting, to connect with thousands of MoVal residents.  Over the course of an hour, residents asked a wide range of questions regarding everything from the city’s financial health, to protecting wild burros, to plans for the third library branch and the city’s new amphitheater.

In the hour we were on the phone, I was able to answer about 20 questions from residents.  Many more whose calls I couldn’t get to due to time constraints left recorded versions of their questions, and staff are now making sure each of them gets a timely answer.

One of the things I like most about Telephone Town Hall Meeting is that it lets people get involved in our ongoing discussion who don’t usually have time to attend a meeting at City Hall.  Without us reaching out to them in their homes or cars, their voices might never be heard.

If you haven’t expressed your city service priorities yet, you can do it quickly and easily on the city website at moval.org/jointheconversation.  It’s yet another way we’re working to make civic participation as simple and inclusive as possible.
