The City of Moreno Valley's television station, MVTV-3, recently won one national and ten regional cable television awards. The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) awarded MVTV-3 its top honor in the Public Service Announcement category at its national conference in San Diego. The city also won ten awards in various categories at the 2015 Star Awards, recently held in Santa Monica. NATOA sponsors its annual conference and the Star Awards to recognize excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming that is produced by local government agencies. At last week's NATOA annual conference, MVTV-3's "Recycle Camp" video won the Association's award for best public service announcement. MVTV-3 also garnered ten awards at the regional conference of the California and Nevada Chapter of NATOA, including a precedent-setting sweep of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the Public Service Announcement category. "Our MVTV-3 provides outstanding service to the Moreno Valley community," said City Manager Michelle Dawson. "It is particularly gratifying to see their hard work recognized by their professional peers," she said. Recycle Camp was a cooperative venture with Val Verde Unified School District's Rancho Verde High School football team. Blending information with humor, the PSA encourages residents to join the recycling elite by recycling waste in the appropriate cart. MVTV-3 staff members Tim Carroll, Rob Roseen, Bob Lorch, Steven Morel, and Matt Shoemaker produced this year's winning video. This is MVTV-3's 11th national award since 2001 and follows an Emmy nomination in 2013.
