Residents, business representatives and community members are invited to attend the annual State of the City address Aug. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The address given by Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez is hosted by the City of Moreno Valley in partnership with the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce. The event, held at the Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, will showcase the city's accomplishments and initiatives. A video presentation featuring the members of the Moreno Valley City Council will highlight the economic development success, the public safety priorities, public infrastructure achievements, fiscal responsibility and transparency, as well as community care initiatives. The cost to attend the luncheon portion of the event is $40 per person. However, the city provides space at the Conference and Recreation Center for live-stream viewing of the speech and presentation at no charge to the public. For those interested in attending, reservations for the luncheon are required, as the event sells out every year. The center is located at 14075 Frederick St. in Moreno Valley. Contact the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce at 951.697.4404 for reservations and additional information, or visit the Chamber's website at www.movalchamber.org.
