The Moreno Valley Arts Commission is seeking applications from performers and artists to participate in the City's 6th annual Artober Fest. This free, family-oriented cultural event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Conference & Recreation Center located at 14075 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley. This free event has grown annually since the inaugural event in 2008. Last year, the event drew more than 1,300 people who were entertained by more than 300 performers. There were also nearly 30 artists and crafters showcasing their talents in booth spaces located both indoors and outdoors. There are many opportunities for local artists to showcase their talent at this event: • Exhibit: Booth spaces are available for $25. A City of Moreno Valley business license and an application to exhibit is required for artists who plan to sell CDs, artwork, jewelry, crafts, etc. • Perform: Simply submit application(s) to perform. Entertainment includes painting demonstrations, poetry readings and performances from singers, dancers and varied musicians. Additionally, there will be food and beverages available to purchase. Families and friends as well as the community at large are invited to attend this wonderful day of celebrating the arts. Artists and performers may obtain more information and applications from the City’s web site at www.moval.org, or by calling 951-485-8414 or 951-697-9022.
