The city of Moreno Valley has chosen Ivorie Franks as Moreno Valley's new library director. A Moreno Valley resident, Franks previously held tenures at libraries in Riverside, Eastvale, Temecula and Perris. Her experience includes adult and youth programming, materials acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, local history, periodicals, reference and volunteer services. Ivorie's efforts achieved successes, increasing library program attendance and forging strong partnerships with local community groups. Moreno Valley's Library services and staffing are provided under a multi-year agreement with Library Systems and Services (LSSI). Through this public-private partnership, seven-day service has been restored to patrons and the books and materials budget has been increased by 200 percent each year. The library is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The library is located at 25480 Alessandro Blvd., Moreno Valley, and can be reached by phone at 951-413-3880 or by email at citylibrary@moval.org.
