The Inland Empire Latino Art Association has announced its Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibit at the San Bernardino County Museum, from Sept. 1 through 27. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the organization will embrace the vast cultural differences that diversify the Hispanic culture, and celebrate Hispanic accomplishments and contributions to American culture through the form of visual arts. Over 31 artists are exhibiting their works, including local Inland Empire artists and artists from Boliva, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, El Salvador and Austria. Featured Inland Empire artists include Rudy Ramirez, Ernie Colunga, Brad Borrero, and Thomas (Bear) Ramirez. International artists include Paola Cabrera of Boliva, Maria Huidobro of Mexico and Klaus Pinter of Austria. This year’s exhibition theme is “a non-traditional experience.” The art will reflect diverse imagery, representing each artist’s own experiences and expressions on what it means to be associated with the Hispanic community, and their community art and outreach. The work presented will vary as widely as the individual backgrounds and experiences from which each artist comes. A reception for the show will be held on Sept. 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Guests can meet the artists and discuss their work and what inspires them to create.
