Tracey Vackar Runs to Represent Riverside Community College District's Area 5

Our community finally has an opportunity to have a voice on the Riverside City College (RCC) District Board that includes the Moreno Valley College, Norco College and Riverside City College due to the formation of trustee seats. This is an exciting opportunity for our community to have equal representation and to ensure program funds are directed to serving our families and students. Since 1990 I have served more than 20 years on the Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) Board of Education and currently the president of the board. My knowledge in budgets, curriculum, safety and long term visions is proven. The experience that I will bring includes understanding how to structure long term debt for future and current building projects needed for student learning and providing for technically advanced classrooms/labs. Professionally I have been a high school classroom teacher, mentor teacher, and have overseen large grants, accreditations, and programs as a school administrator. As the Career and Technical Education Director for Fontana Unified School District I understand the importance of ensuring that our students are both college and career ready. I believe it is important for students to have a choice and for the college to provide training and degree programs that will support our students in their future career goals. All three colleges need equal access to ensure that funding is allocated, and student to teacher ratios are equal. Our community needs direct access to their local representative on the RCC District, and feel confident that the person they elected is dependable and qualified to understand the complex financial budgets allocated and understanding the short and long-term foundations to implement a curriculum program that is developed to support our students. I have a long established relationship with our local Chamber of Commerce and am a member of the Workforce Investment Board – Youth Council Optimist, Riverside Area Rape Crisis Center. It has been an honor to serve you as your educational leader on the Moreno Valley Unified School District and I look forward to continuing this service on the Riverside City College District Board of Education.
