A line of families stretched out the door during the second-annual Health and Resource Fair on Wednesday. Over 2,000 people stopped by the Moreno Valley Conference Center to help their children start the school year on the right foot.
The event, co-sponsored by MVUSD Student Services and Assemblyman Jose Medina, provided families almost 60 resources for their students all for free. It was a one-stop-shop for all things back-to-school, including physicals and immunizations, haircuts, backpacks, clothing, and more. Families could also connect with vital community services. There was also a raffle including bedspreads, small appliances and kitchenware. “We have a lot of families that we want to make sure are ready for school, we want to reduce any barriers to learning so they’re ready to go,” said Coordinator of Student Services Patty Rucker.
