SAN BERNARDINO>> The San Bernardino County Library invites all community members to attend the Lewis Library & Technology Center in Fontana for an Under The Sea for a family event Aug.23. To celebrate literacy, the library will invite Princess Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula and Captain Jack Sparrow to be part of the festivities and encourages all parents or guardians to bring cameras to snap photos of the characters. Families can enjoy the Oceans Rock show and participate in an oceanic-type dig to find seashells or fossils. The event will have crafts, face painting, balloon artists and a live DJ. This event is another opportunity to celebrate and support the San Bernardino's Countywide Vision’s literacy campaign, Vision2Read. The Under The Sea event will take place from 4-7 p.m. For those who have a library card, every 15 items checked out earns the cardholder an opportunity to receive a drawing ticket for a chance to win incentives. All activities are free and open to all ages. The Fontana Lewis Library and Technology Center is located at 8437 Sierra Avenue. The San Bernardino County Library System is a dynamic network of 32 branch libraries that serves a diverse population over a vast geographic area. The County library system strives to provide equal access to information, technology, programs and services for all people who call San Bernardino County home. The library plays a key role in the achievement of the Countywide Vision by contributing to educational, cultural and historical development of our county community. For more information on the San Bernardino County library system, visit sbclib.org or call (909) 387-2220.
