Over 90 students at Canyon Springs High School and about 90 at Valley View High School attended a variety of AP/Honors prep courses over the summer. Courses included science, social science, math, and English. “We believe that by providing our students with a strong foundation, we will be able to ensure their success in our AP/Honors program,” said Canyon Springs Assistant Administrator for Instructional Improvement, Antonia Hunt. “To this end we have endeavored to offer this summer prep program, allowing students to grow.” The AP/Honors prep courses at Canyon Springs were presented in a seminar style. Students could choose a morning and afternoon session to meet their individual needs. Valley View’s program, called Write Connection, was offered through the summer session for any student participating in the AP and Honors programs.

During the school year, both schools will offer Saturday sessions and after school tutoring to continue supporting the students.
