$5.5 Million Investment

By City of Moreno Valley

The Moreno Valley City Council approved a substantial $5.5 million investment toward public safety, city beautification, and quality of life initiatives during the February 1, 2022 Council meeting.

"Among our most important priorities are public safety and maintaining Moreno Valley's coveted quality of life," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "With these newly realized funds, we're making sure Moreno Valley remains a safe and beautiful place to live and thrive."

The investment, part of the first quarter budget update, will go toward a new Fire Squad, three additional Sheriff's Deputies, a Police Behavioral Assessment Team, and an additional Park Ranger to enhance the City's public safety initiatives. The City will also be investing in additional Community Enhancement, Public Works, and Park Maintenance teams.

This allocation will lead to enhanced public safety response times and homeless service programs, as well as more funding to beautify the City and bolster park maintenance programs.

Funding for this investment comes from additional revenues realized from our industrial businesses in the first quarter budget.
