MORENO VALLEY>> On Wednesday, April 12 and Saturday, April 15, the City of Moreno Valley will host a series of town hall meetings at the Moreno Valley City Hall, Council Chamber, 14177 Frederick Street. These meetings will discuss the budget for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 fiscal years and are part of an ongoing effort to encourage the public to get more involved in what is happening in their city. Those who attend will discuss the city's long-term financial stability and long-term financial priorities. They will also discuss the development of the city's proposed budget. Residents who attend the town hall meetings will have the opportunity to not only voice their opinions about the budget, but to learn about the city's budgeting process. The city's budgeting goals include developing a budget that's balanced and that implements the city's "Momentum MoVal" strategy. This means implementing a budget that ensures ongoing costs are funded by ongoing revenues. The "Momentum MoVal" strategy is expected to guide Moreno Valley through its sixth consecutive year of financial stability. While town hall meetings provide residents the chance to participate in city council, they also provide residents the chance to voice their concerns. All feedback gathered at the meetings will be taken into funding recommendations. The city will look over these suggestions and deliberate on their findings.
