School Nationally Recognized For Music Program

Moreno Vally's Rancho Verde High School (RVHS) received the SupportMusic Merit Award from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for their commitment to music education. RVHS joins 96 schools across the country who were recognized this year.
The SupportMusic Merit Award is awarded to schools that demonstrate achievements in their efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
To qualify for the SupportMusic Merit Award, RVHS was required to answer detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs.
Honglac Hathuc, RVHS Band Director, commented, “It is a great honor for our program here at RVHS to receive this award. We were chosen out of thousands of school music programs across the nation and were one of four California high schools picked for the award." He went on to say, "Our students are well rounded individuals, and that is what makes them special.”
Rancho Verde High School Music Program a 175-member marching band, jazz band, color-guard, wind ensemble, drumline and guitar program. The music program also consists of a choir program under the direction of Allyson Huntsman. The choir program consists of 150 members involved in show choir, chamber choir, jazz choir and piano.
