MORENO VALLEY>> The Moreno Valley Parks & Community Services Department is currently accepting registration for the upcoming Pee Wee and Junior Flag Football season. The 6-week program will provide boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 9 with flag football skill development in a non-competitive atmosphere. The registration fee is $70 for residents and $91 for non-residents and includes a jersey, participation award and an end of season banquet. The deadline to register is Friday, March 17. Players can save money by registering early. For those who register by Friday, March 3, registration fees will be reduced to $60 for residents and $78 for non-residents. Players between the ages of 7 to 9 must attend a mandatory skills assessment on March 18 at the Conference & Recreation Center at 14075 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley. All games and practices will be held at the city's newest football fields at Lasselle Sports Park, located at 17155 Lasselle Street in Moreno Valley. The Parks & Community Services Department is also looking for enthusiastic individuals to volunteer as coaches and who have a keen interest in the development of Moreno Valley children through recreation. Volunteer coaches who finish a season will receive a refund of 50 percent off their child's registration fee. Only one refund will be allowed per coach. To register for the flag football program or to become a volunteer coach, please visit the Conference & Recreation Center at 14075 Frederick Street, or call 951-413-3280.
