California Youth Leadership Forum Includes VVHS student

Valley View senior Amberlee Erickson had an interesting summer. She participated in the California Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) at Sacramento State University. YLF is an exciting and free five-day leadership-development program for students that provides information on everything, from assistive technology to resources that can help students transition to independent living, college and/or employment. At YLF, students create a “Personal Leadership Plan” to help them reach their future education, independent-living and career goals. Forum attendees meet with state and national leaders, including celebrities and politicians and get to stay in dorms at Sacramento State. But more importantly, they also sometimes make lifelong friendships with students from all over the state.
