Two days after the PacWest announced California Baptist University produced a conference-high All-Academic student-athletes, it revealed CBU also produced a league-best four Scholar-Athletes. Four Lancers were named 2014-15 PacWest Scholar-Athletes in one of the 15 conference sports. No other school was represented by more than two scholar-athletes. Cassidy Mihalko (women's basketball), Abdel El-Hajjami (men's track and field), Natalie Park (women's golf) and Michelle Waber (women's volleyball) were all voted as the scholar-athletes of their respective sports. "We are very proud of our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Dr. Micah Parker. "This is a combined effort of our coaches stressing academics, our athletes achieving at a high level and our faculty/staff working with their schedules to make it all work." The PacWest chooses Scholar-Athletes in each of the conference-sponsored 15 sports of which CBU offers 13. The conference's sports information directors voted on who would be named the scholar-athlete of each sport based on their athletic and academic performances over the past season. All 15 awardees will be automatically nominated for the PacWest Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the entire conference.
