MORENO VALLEY>> In an update from Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Gutierrez highlighted the city’s strategic plan, Momentum MoVal, and thanked his fellow residents for electing him as mayor during the Nov. 8 General Election. “The voters spoke loud and clear on Nov. 8 and elected me to be the city’s first directly-elected mayor,” Gutierrez said. “I am truly honored. Together, we will build upon our numerous successes and continue to move Moreno Valley in the right direction toward more jobs, more business opportunities and an exceptional quality of life.” Gutierrez said residents can be proud of the work completed by the Moreno Valley City Council throughout the last year. “We created a dynamic strategic plan to outline a vision for our future - a vision that could not have been possible without the community’s input,” Gutierrez said. “The vision advances the city in key areas including economic development, public safety and library services.” Gutierrez said improvements to the city’s infrastructure along with enhancements to youth programs, beautification efforts and community engagement are also laid out. “You spoke and we listened,” Gutierrez said. SimpliCITY, the city’s new cloud-based application for all development services, enables city staff to work at the speed of business. “Faster and more efficient service will help attract, retain and grow business,” Gutierrez said. “Residents and developers will soon have access to it as well, further improving the customer experience.”
