60 Freeway Closures on March 25 and 26

By City of Moreno Valley

03/15/2022 at 03:43 PM

As part of the ongoing Moreno Beach Drive bridge project, portions of the 60 freeway are scheduled to be closed during the nights of Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26.

The closures were rescheduled from the original dates of March 18 and 19 due to delivery delays of construction materials.

Upcoming closure dates approved by Caltrans, which are subject to change:

March 25: All westbound lanes of the 60 freeway at Moreno Beach Drive from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

March 26: All eastbound lanes of the 60 freeway at Moreno Beach Drive from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

March 25 and 26: Moreno Beach Drive from Ironwood Avenue to Eucalyptus Avenue from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

These closures are contingent upon additional work being completed prior to the closure, equipment and material delivery, and no additional delays due to unforeseen events.

Motorists wishing to use Moreno Beach Drive during the closures are asked to exit the freeway at Redlands Boulevard or Nason Street and utilize Ironwood Avenue or Eucalyptus Avenue to bypass the closures.

The closures will allow construction crews to install a temporary support system to construct the west side of the new bridge over the 60 freeway.

The Moreno Beach Bridge project will replace the existing two-lane bridge with a new seven-lane bridge with enhanced safety features, simplified on/off ramps, and underground storm drain facilities to mitigate flooding.

More information on the project is available at MorenoBeachProject.com. Residents with concerns can contact the Moreno Beach Bridge Public Outreach Team at info@morenobeachproject.com.
