The City of Moreno Valley is pleased to announce its new Emergency Alert and Warning Notification System known as "Alert MoVal," which will send rapid notifications to residents and businesses in the event of an emergency situation. The system enables officials to provide essential information quickly, through a variety of avenues when there is a threat to the health and safety of residents. Subscribers will receive time-sensitive messages that affect home or work environments such as: • Severe weather • Flooding • Unexpected road closures • Gas leaks • Missing persons • Evacuations of affected neighborhoods and locations The city encourages residents and business owners to subscribe to Alert MoVal to receive timely, accurate information in the event of an emergency or disaster. There are several options for receiving notifications, which include recorded messages sent to landline and cell phones, as well as text messages and/or email. Notifications sent to phones will automatically call listed and unlisted telephone numbers within the area affected by the emergency. All information provided will be kept strictly confidential. To subscribe, simply log onto www.moval.org/alert and follow the prompts. For more information, contact the Office of Emergency Management and Volunteer Services at 951-413-3800 or visit the city's website at www.moval.org.
