The City of Moreno Valley is celebrating America Recycles Day 2014 by hosting a FREE Community Paper Shred event on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the truck containing shredded material becomes full. The event will be held at the City Yard located at 15670 Perris Boulevard (between John F. Kennedy Drive and Iris Avenue). Moreno Valley residents and businesses are encouraged to protect themselves by bringing documents for destruction that contain confidential and personal information such as, but not limited to: legal documents, medical records, financial statements, tax records, etc. Participants are allowed to bring up to five banker-sized boxes (9"x 18"x 11.5") per household or business. Paper will be shredded onsite and in view. Participants will be provided a certificate of destruction upon request. Shredding confidential and personal documents is a practice that can help provide security and minimize the amount of paper accumulating in your home or business. America Recycles Day, a nationwide initiative by Keep America Beautiful, is the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States. Every year on or around Nov. 15 (America Recycles Day), millions turn out to thousands of local events held throughout the country to celebrate and learn more about their recycling programs. The public is encouraged to arrive early as the event will end once the truck is full. Community Paper Shred is open to City of Moreno Valley residents and businesses only. For more information contact the Waste and Recycling Program at 951-413-3109.
