MORENO VALLEY>> Members of the Canyon Springs Art Club have been practicing their face-painting techniques for weeks now, and put them to use at the recent 9th annual Artoberfest at the Moreno Valley Conference Center. “We are planning on participating in the Riverside Day of The Dead (Celebration) in November,” said teacher Elvira Zink. “We have been practicing skull-face painting and making adorable skull piñatas.” The event is a way to celebrate Día de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday honoring deceased loved ones. The free event is open to the public and will include Aztec dancing, traditional altars, music, children’s activities, authentic Mexican food and more to celebrate the holiday. The community can see the members of the Canyon Springs Art Club work their magic Nov. 5 in Downtown Riverside.
