MORENO VALLEY>> Moreno Valley Councilmember David Marquez recently had the opportunity to participate in a refueling exercise at March Air Reserve Base to learn about the impact the base has on the regional economy and across the world. Participants in the Civic Leaders Tour, which also included business and community leaders, took flights on a C-17 Globemaster III and a KC-135 Stratotanker to experience an inflight refueling mission carried out by crews from MARB. The mission provided a valuable opportunity for local stakeholders to learn about how Air Force Reservists, as Citizen Airmen, execute missions while working alongside active duty and Air National Guard forces to provide responsive, strategic mobility for the Department of Defense. "As an Air Force veteran, a supporter of our military men and women, and as an elected representative, I know community support for military bases is essential for the economic stability of the surrounding communities," Marquez said. "It was an incredible honor to have had this experience. I look forward to working to strengthen support for the base and continuing our rich military history."
